If you know me, you know that boots are one of my favorite things in the world, and a staple in my wardrobe (along with ruffled blouses and Victorian/Military inspired jackets, one of the reasons I loathe Texas weather - I rarely get to dress in my preferred aesthetic). I especially love Dr Martens and Fluevogs...mmmmm Fluevogs.
My boot collection:
Twenty-eye Dr Martens. I replaced the laces with pink satin ribbon to customize them a bit and make them more feminine. I would be thrilled if these were ever produced in cotton candy pink. *daydreams*
Hello Kitty Dr Martens!
Glow in the dark Skelly Dr Martens. I adore these boots. They are bloody brilliant.
Jump Bjork boots. I got these on sale at Amazon. They are super comfortable, but I am constantly asked if they are rain boots. It's a tad annoying...but they do make excellent rain boots. Ha!
My first and only pair of Fluevogs: Wearever Xie-Xie. Sweetie got these for me as a Valentine's Day gift a couple of years ago. (A trend he can feel free to repeat heehee.) If it were up to me I would have a closet filled with Fluevogs, they are simply amazing and worth every penny.
I got these at Foverever 21 of all places. Sweetie added grommets to the holes for the laces. They were originally raw edged, which looked horribly cheap. I also laced them up with black satin ribbon. These are very comfortable and have lasted a while.
I think I have a nice collection, but of course I covet more!
Fluevog Baroque Velazquez. Pretty, pretty boots. These are so over the top bombastic and would not go with much of my wardrobe, but oh do I want them.
Fluevog Mini Babycakes. I've been drooling over these since they were released. They look so comfortable and would go with everything.
Fluevog Operetta Hjordis. I love the buckle details on these.
Finally, the Ones That Got Away. To this day I regret not purchasing the Countess Oliva Fluevogs. I pined and I dithered and told myself it was ridiculous to spend so much on a pair of boots. Even when they went on sale and were still available in my size I dithered. And dithered some more. Then when I finally decided to just go for it they were gone forever. Now I search Ebay on a regular basis for a size 10.
Are they not the most perfect boots in all the universe? *sigh*
^v^

I think your boot collection is my favorite so far! I have never heard of these Fluevogs, but they seem amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe Baroque Velasquez are awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh!! Your boots are so beautiful :) I especially love your Dr Martens. Those Skelly boots are just too wicked, I've been wanting a pair like those for ages ^.^ And, I so want some Fluevogs now...

What an huge collection of boots! I love them all! It was nice to see how it looked when changing the laces to ribbons. I have a pair of high boots that looks a bit dull with plain shoelaces. Thanks for the tip about Fluevog, those shoes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFluevog makes such beautiful boots! I am envious of yours, and depressed because they don't come in size "freakishly small" for me. :(
ReplyDeleteThe pink ribbon you added to the 20-hole Docs gives them a wonderful softness. I really love that look. I will have to try it with my New Rocks to soften them up a bit!
I almost bought those docs with the skeleton print.
ReplyDeleteI love them dearly.

The Fluevogs are almost bringing tears to my eyes, so lovely, so completely unavailable in the UK. I agree that your partner should definitely repeat that gift...
ReplyDeleteLove the boots!! I was not familiar with the Fluevogs but now I want some myself, they look awesome!
ReplyDeleteLovely collection! There are baby pink docs in existence, though I cannot find any in a 10: http://meatfeet.tumblr.com/post/14930763971/babypinkdocs
ReplyDeleteHere are some lovely Doc Darcies in Pink with black lace: http://meatfeet.tumblr.com/post/14929639675/pink-black-darcie
