Fashion Natterings: Upcoming Lip Service Collections

I've been quite disappointed by Lip Service lately.  They did not produce what looked to be a lovely jacket from one collection then ruined another jacket I was looking forward to by making it out of cheap '70s sofa vinyl.

So I had pretty much written them off and taken comfort in Betsey Johnson.  I decided to check Redemption Klothing today just to see if Lippy was up to anything.  There are tons of line drawings up for some new collections.  There are several lovely men's items that I think Sweetie will look quite handsome in.  We need more matching Lip Service outfits in our lives, hee.  There are no production dates set and I'm not going to become too attached to the items since it seems they cancel a lot of their collections these days.

However, I can't help but squee gently and mentally re-arrange the Shiny Things Budget:

Step In Time - Westing Manor:

I am a fan of the Step in Time collections although I have not purchased anything.  (Sweetie has the men's tailcoat from the first collection.)  I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing any items in the lovely striped key print last year; my budget was just not in the right place at the time.

I will have to wait for the actual photos for the Westing Manor items to decide whether I like them.  Many of the items mention a plaid colorway and vinyl trim.  It all has the potential to look pretty terrible in my mind.

However, I find this print with stripes and Victorian ladies oddly charming:

Lady Print Cami

The Blacklist:

There are two tops that would be lovely for summer (ugh I do not wish to think of summer right now):

Chiffon Ruffle Top

Chiffon Cap Sleeve Top

For Sweetie:

Men's Tailored Jacket

Men's Velveteen Vest with Pocketwatch Chain

Men's Dress Pants

Desert Exile:

I rather like the cut of this jacket - even the little cargo pocket.

Stretch Canvas Jacket

For Sweetie:

Men's Stretch Canvas Cargo Pant

Voracious Velveteen:

Matching velvet jackets for me and Sweetie!

For Me:

Velveteen Jacket

For Sweetie:

Men's Velveteen Jacket

Gangsta Pranksta 2012:

This is probably one of the longest running collections.  You cannot go wrong with pinstipes!  I think the skirt and shrug would look striking together:

Collared Shrug

High Waisted Bustle Skirt

For Sweetie:

Men's Bondage Jacket

Men's Bondage Pants

Of course the bum flap on those pants would come right off.  Bum flap?  *shakes head*

Fashion Victim 2012:

Ooooh skelly jackets!!

For me:

Skeleton Screen Moto Jacket

For Sweetie:

Men's Skeleton Print Moto Jacket

All of the photos are from Redemption Klothing.

  1. Wow, they have some gorgeous things planned! The pinstripe shrug is brilliant, but definitely would need the skirt to match (I could see the shrug being difficult to style on its own). I'm in love with the two chiffon tops.

  2. Aww, I love pinstipe shrug, but the skirt is a bit too much, I'd prefer one with a more simple outline. I guess, I'll love the design, when seeing the finished product, anyway. ^^

And thanks for posting this, My Love is usually sad, for not finding anything "classy, in wich I don't look like I prefer guys, or look like some skater in black" in these shops, now he'll be happy, too.

  3. VictorianKitty: I can't wait until they release the photos! The shrug would look great with a corset that has buckle accents. I've also been craving skirts that are short in front and long in back lately.

Goth Mary Poppins: I am very impressed with the LS men's items lately. It is so hard to find nice alternative men's clothing.

  4. After a superb Fall/Winter 2010 line (I ADORE my key-print Victorian blouse, it remains a staple along with the plain black one not to mention the FANTASTIC 'Blacklist' blouse, cincher and 'I'm Cold' sweater) I too was disappointed with last years Fall/Winter line. I bought one item, the off-the-shoulder blouse in black but have yet to wear it. I think the Westing Manor 'Chiffon High Collar Top' looks like it could be amazing and I like the idea of the men's hoodie with the gramophone and bird's because I've been an audiophile for years. I also like several blouses from the 'Blacklist'. The stretch canvas jacket from 'Desert Exile' looks potentially decent and I think the 'Voracious Velveteen' waist cincher is nice. Again, LOVE the cincher I bought winter 2010. Still, I think they should resurrect some lines from 2005-2009 ;P M <3

  5. The last two Spring lines have been fine. I LOVE the cap sleeve perfume bottles/corset shirts and I REALLY love the tarot blouse in teal with the 'Moon' as well as the off-the-shoulder blouse. I bought Raven Eve finger loop, sarf, belt, ouija cami top as well as finally picked up the 'Shadows of Spain' cap top (long-sleeve next) for my early b'day gift to self :)

  6. The Baroness: I agree, 2005-2009 had some very lovely things. I would also love to see a new Lolita Candy line! I swear they made that one just for me.
